Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival coming to Wii U later this year
A new Animal Crossing game was announced during the Nintendo Digital Event, and this time it’s coming to Wii U… But it’s not what you think.
Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival has you pitting off against your friends on a board game that spans across the entire town.
At first glance it looks like a Mario Party-style game, but a bit more innocent. Players start by choosing a character with an Animal Crossing amiibo. So far shown off is Isabelle, K.K. Slider, Tom Nook and Mabel.
On a dice roll, the player moves to a marked space and a little pre-recorded scenario plays out depending if it’s a lucky or not so lucky space. For example it might show you being so amazing at a game of tag, the townsfolk reward you with a nice monetary prize. Or maybe you go for a makeover and it turns out to be a terrible waste of money.
So far that looks to be the main goal, collecting as many bells, the in-game currency, and becoming more happy than everyone else. The happiest player at the end wins!
Along with the townsfolk other regulars, such as Tortimer, Katrina and Phineas to name a few, make an appearance to move the game along.
Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival is slated for release later this year. Stay with Vooks for more news as it arises.
I might pick this up instead of Mario Party, kinda wish it was an actual Animal Crossing though.
