In a new interview, Big Ant talks about their upcoming AFL game, the challenges of it, and that it’s coming to Wii, but not for a while.

"At the moment, not the Wii," said Ross Symons, CEO of Big Ant. "There will be a Wii AFL game, but they might not hit at the same time as the others. Essentially the way our engine works, our technology, is that we target the PS3 as the most powerful platform. Because it is, it is the most powerful platform. We target the PS3, then we move it to the Xbox 360, then to the PC. The PS3 is also the hardest platform to deal with, that’s why we do it first. Not everything you do on the Xbox 360 can come across to the PS3."

It’s not clear if Big Ant will even be developing the Wii version themselves, but someone is. After we’ve finally got cricket on Wii, it is great to see another Aussie sports favourite possibly arriving.

The rest of the interview which covers the other versions can be read here.
