Achievement Unlocked: No Achievements for Nintendo 3DS
Youll just have to play the games to feel like youve accomplished something
Nintendo has ruled out any sort of system wide achievement for the Nintendo 3DS with Nintendos Bill Trinen saying that Nintendo would rather you figure out how to best enjoy the game and get a reward rather than be pointed to it.
"Basically, the way the games are designed is theyre designed for you to explore the game yourself and have this sense of discovery. To that end, I think that when you look specifically at games from EAD and a lot of other games that Nintendo has developed a well, there are things you can do in the game that will result in some sort of reward or unexpected surprise." says Trinen.
"In my mind, that really encourages the sense of exploration rather than the sense of If I do that, Im going to get some sort of artificial point or score thats going to make me feel better that I got this. And that, to me, is I think more compelling."
So reader, whats your thinking on this, would you rather be rewarded with finding something good, finishing a game and feeling the accomplishment of that or adding another notch to your belt?
There is of course the Play Coins feature of the 3DS, but anyone can shake their 3DS in a paint mixer.
