Nintendo has just announced that Pokémon X and Y have both sold over 4 million copies worldwide in just two days on sale.
In the statement Nintendo President Satoru Iwata has said that “The early response to Pokémon X and Pokémon Y not only reaffirms the ongoing passion of Pokémon fans, but also indicates that an entirely new generation of gamers is eager to experience the franchise for itself,”.
Pokémon X and Pokémon Y are the fastest selling Nintendo 3DS games of all time and are tracking ahead of Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 by more than 70%. That’s a lot.
The statement also iterated that the data from Europe primarily only covers one day, Nintendo says ‘as the great majority of retail outlets are closed on Sundays across Europe’.
These sales figures are impressive and together with the 3 million copies of Monster Hunter 4 that have shipped in Japan the 3DS is certainly flying at the moment.
We've never had to write PlayStation so many times before.
