Konami revealed that their 3DS version Pro Evolution Soccer 2012 will come complete with a “full” suite of online features, as well as Street Pass and Master League updates. First up is the online, which essentially just does 1v1 matches over the net.
Doesn’t sound to flashy or innovative, but then, I doubt it needs to be. Hopefully this singularity of vision will help them nail down the netcode. Additionally, you’ll now be able to pass around your team’s data via Streetpass and face AI controlled versions of other people’s teams. This actually sounds really damn neat and is certainly a more elegant solution that creating a weird autoresolve algorithm like in say Street Fighter 3D.
To play into this Street Passing it seems that the Master League, the game’s “make your own team” rags to riches mode, has been expanded in scope. Hopefully it allows for dramatic enough differentiation between teams so that a win against the Streetpass AI isn’t basically guaranteed for both sides. Lastly Konami have added in an editing feature for players, so that you can keep your team’s roster up to date and NEVER NEED TO BUY ANOTHER SEQUEL.
