The Japanese charts reveal that the 3DS is still on top with a total of 63,796 units sold in the last week. The number may not seem that impressive given the recent drop in sales but the handheld still completely outclassed all the other consoles combined. The good news for the 3DS results this week don’t stop just with hardware sales, as software titles are also making their impression on the Japanese Market. The Sales boosters of last year Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7 are still going strong with positions in the top ten along with games like Monster Hunter 3 G and even the new kid on the block Kid Icarus: Uprising.
With 6 software titles taking up over half of the top ten, and Console sales dwarfing competition the 3DS is going very strong in its Homeland. On the flip side the Wii is notably dying out with only 6837 consoles sold, but with the Wii U so close on the horizon this is to be expected and Nintendo is looking pretty comfortable for this new generation of Console Gaming.
It is a Holiday Gaming Extravaganza
Some really great deals.
