Update today for massive fun.

Nintendo has pushed up a new system update for the Nintendo 3DS which adds support for the StreetPass Relay feature.

You’ll now be able to StreetPass with people at at Nintendo Zone Spots, you won’t actually have to be there at the same time as another person. Instead the spot will remember the last person and then you’ll StreetPass with them. The next person will get you.

This new StreetPass Relay will be great in countries and regions that are less densely populated. So basically everywhere but Japan.

We’ve contacted Nintendo Australia to ask if this feature is coming to Australia in some form or another as we don’t have Nintendo Zone spots.

The update also makes ‘further improvements to overall system stability’ just like usual too.

Update: Nintendo Australia have got back to us with the “We don’t have anything to announce at this time” line. Considering we don’t have Nintendo Zone spots our solution may take longer to implement. We’ll bug them again in a couple of weeks if we don’t hear anything.
