The very best, like no one ever was.
Over the weekend the 2013 Pokemon World Championships were held in Vancouver and the results are in! The event holds events for both the Pokemon video games and trading card game.
While it would appear none of the Aussies in the video game events were able to take home top spot at least one Aussie has one in the trading card game.
Kaiwen Cabbabe is the 2013 Pokémon TCG Senior Division World Champion (Senior Division). The senior division is for people born between 1998 and 2001. If that’s senior, I must be ancient.
But let’s not forget people from other regions who have just as well of a job. Here are all the winners from the event, from all categories;
2013 Pokémon Trading Card Game World Finalists—Junior Division (born in 2002 or later)
2013 Pokémon Trading Card Game World Finalists—Senior Division (born in 1998–2001)
2013 Pokémon Trading Card Game World Finalists—Masters Division (born in 1997 or earlier)
2013 Pokémon Video Game World Finalists—Junior Division (born in 2002 or later)
2013 Pokémon Video Game World Finalists—Senior Division (born in 1998–2001)
2013 Pokémon Video Game World Finalists—Masters Division (born in 1997 or earlier)
All of the winners above earn the title of Pokemon World Champion, they receive a special World Championships trophy featuring Pikachu, a trip to next year’s World Championships in Washington DC and even receive scholarship money. Not a bad deal really now is it?
As we saw at PAX Australia the Pokemon Video Game Championships are tense and hard work, even though they might not have won we have to applaud all the Aussies who was able to get all the way to Vancouver. Bravo.
