Virtual Console coming to Wii U in Autumn update
Games will support Off-TV play and save states similar to 3DS Virtual Console games.Nintendo did say that as new features are being added, the Virtual Console games will require a separate purchase to have Wii U exclusive features, however there is some good news for those of you with giant Virtual Console collections already on the Wii.
People who have purchased Virtual Console games on the Wii, and then transferred them across to the Wii U, will be able to purchase these games with the extra Wii U features at a heavily reduced price. Exact Australian prices are yet to be confirmed, but in the US it was announced to be $1 for an NES game, and $1.50 for a Super NES game. The full Virtual Console store will become available in the next Wii U system update, which is expected in our Autumn.
Nothing regarding GCN games yet?
I’m more than happy to pay the upgrade fee to get these running naively. Just sayin.
No word on N64? Curious about the prices there. Excited for GBA games though.
No word on N64 or GC games yet. I would imagine N64 would almost certainly come eventually since they were supported on the Wii. GameCube is a bit harder to say, will be interesting to see if it ever happens.
