Puyo Puyo Tetris cheaper on Australian Switch eShop than retail

When Puyo Puyo Tetris launches at the end of this month it’s going to be cheaper on the eShop than it is at retail in Australia. The game retailers for $59.95 here for the Switch version, on the eShop it’s currently sitting at $52. Not a huge saving but it could be enough to sway you from physical.

There’s more good news, the game looks like it’ll be out on April 27th, possibly meaning you’ll be able to get it earlier than from the shops.

But wait there’s more! There’s also going to be a demo for the game just like there was in Japan. You probably already downloaded it, but least this one will be in English.

Now let’s hope the publisher doesn’t notice and put the price back up, yeah Konami we’re looking at you.

Really keen for this. Now if only NAMCO would bring back Mr Driller. Now THAT was a good arcade action puzzle game!

Not that I’m downplaying these games, but alongside street fighter 2, what would be mere bonus off-beat games on ps4 and etc are being treated like AAA games on the switch. Kinda sad really.

You’d have to be crazy to go digital on a game like this at *that* price. I would only go digital on this if it were $20 or less. Hell, the free demo lets you enjoy the core experience for free (and it’s unlimited use to boot), giving frugal gamers even less reason to pay such a ridiculous price for such a simplistic, low-budget game. The demo also supports local multiplayer, which makes Sega’s decision to charge as much as they are for this all the more confounding.

Plus, I’m sure that Big W and Target will chime in and sell this for around $45-$55.

I ended up giving in on my anti-import stance the other week and ordered from ozGameshop (They are the only overseas shop that hasn’t burnt me over the years). I preordered this for 50.99 and also picked up lego city: undercover for $58, the way I figured it $109 wasn’t too bad for both titles considering that all orders over $50 get free postage.

I’d buy it for ten bucks maybe.

Sure enough, the price has now increased to $59.99 …

Will continue to play the demo for awhile as it has a ton of gameplay anyway. Seems a bit silly to release this on the day before Mario Kart 8 drops but HEY.
