Nintendo Selects range for Wii finally coming to Australia

You know when you walk in a game store in Australia and see Wii games for $89 or even $99 dollars still and think – jeez shouldn’t they be cheaper?
Well now some of them are.
Two years after North America got them, the Nintendo Selects budget range is coming to Australia. There will be 5 Wii games on offer and all be priced at $49.95 (NZ $59.95). See cheaper. The price change will come into effect with the new packaging on November 7th.
For Twilight Princes, which originally was a GameCube game (as well as being on the Wii) this is its first price drop in 7 years.
The games in the range are;
- Mario Kart Wii
- Super Smash Bros. Brawl
- The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess,
- Super Mario Galaxy
- Wii Sports + Wii Sports Resort (two games, one disc)
All of the above games are playable on the Wii U of course as well, you will need a Wii Remote for that though.
Cheap enough for you to consider now?

Awesome, maybe the Wii U will get the Wind Waker bundle in 2017 or so!
Part of me wants to tell Nintendo off for taking this long to bring it over, part of me feels surprised and pleased that it’s actually coming over and part of me feels anger that it’s still $50 AUD ($60 NZD).
@MysticLegacy – Yeah at least they did finally get around to it and I guess most of these games are still retailing near their original RRP though undoubtedly $50 for a Wii game is still rough (eg. My friend just got Metroid Otber M brande new for $18) but at least Nintendo Australia are doing something which is more than you can say about their handling of the Wii U!
By Grapthar’s hammer…..what a savings….
It was cheaper to just buy a Wii Mario Kart console bundle for $99 as opposed to the standalone game, which was only $10 lower (plus you get a console + Wii Remote Plus + Nunchuk + Sensor Bar).
We pay $50 while America pays $20. Why does the gaming world hate us?
