Fire Emblem Awakening launching with DLC – and some for free!

Nintend of Europe president, Satoru Shibata, confirmed on tonight’s Nintendo Direct broadcast that there will be extra map content available to download for Fire Emblem: Awakening on the day it launches here in Australia (this Saturday). This content has already been available to US Fire Emblem fans, but of course we couldn’t access it with the game itself not being available in Australia just yet.

There will three extra maps in total available to download which make up the Champions of Yore package. As an added bonus for Australian Fire Emblem fans, the first of these three Champions of Yore maps will be available to download for free for a limited time.

These three maps can also be purchased in a package, which works out cheaper than buying them all individually. Shibata-san also mentioned that the package will be discounted for a limited time (presumably to offset the cost of the free map pack offer). No word on exact prices yet, but we’ll be sure to let you know.

Let us know if you’ll be picking up this extra content in the comments, or the forums!
