EA Has No Games in Development for the Wii U

Just a few years ago, Nintendo and EA announced that they had entered an “unprecedented partnership” it was quite a big deal. A deal that seems to have soured more recently with EA stating that they have no games in the pipeline for the Wii U.

EA Spokesperson Jeff Brown told Kotaku

“We have no games in development for the Wii U currently.”

While this doesn’t rule out the Wii U from ever getting new games in franchises like The Sims and Mass Effect, it is worrying that they have nothing in development for the Wii U right now.

We’ve suspected something like this might be said, since many of EA’s most popular franchises like FIFA and Madden are skipping the Wii U in upcoming iterations.

As much as people enjoy hating EA, they do develop and publish many extremely popular and well received games, and it will be a shame to not have them on the Wii U.

Do you think this will only be temporary, or are you bracing for an entirely EA-free Wii U future? Let us know in the comments.

Pfft, it’s only EA. The only EA game of any value in my eyes in The Sims and that’s a game best played on a computer anyway. No big loss.

I see this biting EA in the ass. Once the AAA titles from Nintendo start coming out sales of the Wii U will rise and EA won’t have anything in the pipeline to release…

EA’s loss… Nintendo will focus on their other partnerships, like Ubisoft, sega & platinum games. And as always once the big name Ninty games are released, EA (Disney) & others will finally wake up & start rushing to put their games on thew WiiU. I’m so excited about the next few years for Nintendo, the 3DS and WiiU ~!!!

Agree with the sentiment here. This doesn’t hurt Nintendo because there aren’t any EA games that people buy consoles for. There’s always been bad blood between EA and Nintendo stemming back from the days when the NES defied the PC gaming future enviosioned by the then head of the company, Trip Hawkins. But yeah, I don’t think this should bother anyone from Nintendo.

agreed……..it makes me laugh that everyone thinks that nintendo consoles only appeal to kids ! if that was the case, why doesn’t EA want to publish games for the wii u, they are acting like spoilt kids…..would be a good fit ! lmfao !!!!!!!!!
