The Classic Mini NES will feature a brand new NES emulator
When Nintendo revealed the The Nintendo Classic Mini: Nintendo Entertainment System it didn’t say a lot about how it would actually work. Some wondered if it would be just a cut down Wii running Virtual Console games or something else.
However it’s now been revealed that Nintendo European Research and Development, or NERD if you prefer are working on a brand new emulator just for the Mini NES. It’s probably a good thing too, because neither current Wii, Wii U or 3DS emulators would make good fit as they are.
The NERD team have an impressive resume as well, they’re not only responsible for this but also the Super-Stable 3D in the New Nintendo 3DS, the DS Virtual Console emulator on the Wii U, gave the Wii U the ability to play Wii games from the eShop and even the video player in the Wii U internet browser.
The The Nintendo Classic Mini: Nintendo Entertainment System is out November 11th, if you can find one.
